Frequently asked questions

• Do I have to use touchdesigner to gain full control of the PETAL brain?
  No. The PETAL brian utilizes open source standard data protocols. So, as long as you can establish a LAN connection - either by ethernet cable or WIFI - you will have full control over the PETAL brain. In other words, any software that can send DMX out over ArtNET or sACN will work.
• How do I program the PETAL rig to respond to MIDI cues?
  You cannot send MIDI cues directly to the PETAL brain. However, most lighting softwares allow scenes and cues to be mapped to MIDI triggers.
• How long do orders take to be fulfilled?
  While we cannot guarantee a timeframe, we have made HUGE strides in bringing down lead times and we continue to make our best efforts in fulfilling orders as fast as possible. You can generally expect your order to take about 2 weeks, with simple kits like DIY and aluminum taking a little less and full rigs taking a little more.
• Where are you based out of? Do you ship outside the US?
  We are based out of Austin TX and yes we do ship internationally! We just can't trust our shipping quote automation to handle this. Please contact us to place international orders manually.

In summary, WLED is the software that runs on the Petal brain controller. The PETAL brain runs WLED on a QuinLED digital control chip. Show Buddy and Touchdesigner are both control softwares that use ArtNET to push effects to the Petal brain. ArtNET was developed by Artistic License.
